Pink and Purple, Erte like robe dress.  They come from a portfolio done in 1924 to 1926 in Paris.  They are original designs for a Paris designer's upcoming line very much in the style of Jeanne Lanvin.   I do not know which designer or firm they were from but it was probably a fairly important design house. These were obtained from the Robert Tobin Estate, Collection of Fashion Design.  The bulk of Tobin's estate became the basis for the Museum of Theatre and costume design at McNay Museum in San Antonio, TX.   The paper that these gouaches were painted on is watermarked ; Canson and Montgollier. Note on condition: The portfolio was bound with string as shown in the images and was probably never opened or displayed since the 1920's. But this does leave small holes in the left side margin where the pieces were bound.  I will supply small pieces of the same paper that can be placed behind the holes if you want to show the margins.   Showing the margins is not necessary but it would give a larger image.
